What is the water temperature?Lake Michigan will be between 62 and 72 degrees in July! Be sure to bring a wet suit! You will need one!
How deep is the water? Will the surf of big waves?Athletes will swim in 8-12 ft. of water. The wave action depends on the wind conditions on race race. The lake could be flat or the waves could be 2-3 feet. I the water is to rough, the swim will be cut short or eliminated.
Can I use a tandem or recumbent bike in the race?NO

Do I need a helmet?Yes, you must have a helmet to do the race!
Can I sign up on race day?No, registration closes on Saturday, July 6th at 6:00 PM.
May I pick up my race packet on race day if I'm pre-registered for the race?Yes, Pre-registered athletes may pick-up their race packets on race morning. Please plan on arriving early.
Do I have to be a member of USA Triathlon to participate.No, you do not have to be an annual member of USA Triathlon to participate, but you will be charged a $10 one-day insurance fee if you are not an annual member of USA Triathlon

When do I start swimming?You will be assigned a "Wave" to start. Your "wave" will have the same color caps and you will all start together.
